Tonight is my last recording session at PREP Sound for my upcoming full length album, “Steps” and I could not be more excited! After 6 months of tracking, all 14 songs are (mostly) complete, and we can finally begin the mixing/mastering process! I’m stoked to see the album art coming to me from California artist, Meehaun Glasper-Wade, and can’t wait to announce an official release date for the album in early 2017!
Super shout outs to fellow Ithaca College alums Erin Snedecor and Jessie Linden who recorded the last cello and drum parts, respectively, helping me make this project the best it could possibly be! Both of these amazingly talented women worked with me in tiny practice rooms and over the phone discussing and arranging the parts to sonic perfection!
This year I’ve got 3 more shows coming up, the first a holiday show at my favorite neighborhood bar/venue, Shillelagh Tavern (47-22 30th Ave, Astoria NY 11103), which will also be a coat drive for the Ali Forney Center for LGBTQ Homeless Youth. Admission is free with a coat, or $10 without. I’m stoked to have Sarah Tompkins on cajon again, and welcoming James Burgess on upright bass! My good friend and musical partner in crime Uniq Being will be joining us for part of our set, and the bands Ghost Pressure and the Grand Cannons will be playing as well!
If you can’t make it on the 16th, don’t fret! Hop on by the Union Square Holiday Market in NYC at 6pm on 12/20 or 12/22 and you can catch me playing an hour long acoustic set!
Wishing everyone a happy and stress-free holiday season as we move together towards the now ominous 2017…
