Will Shish is a singer/songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and trans man living in Queens, NY. He graduated from Ithaca College with a Bachelors in Music Composition where he wrote and premiered his first musical, The Lesbian Fairytale Musical, grew his solo folk/rock repertoire, scored student films, and found the vital support from the local LGBTQ community to come out and begin to transition.
After graduating and getting top surgery in the same week in May 2013, he moved to NYC to pursue his career in music. He released his EP “To the Corner and Back” in August 2015, wrote the score to a Fringe Festival play “Endless Air, Endless Water” about two gay astronauts, and has been performing with an array of talented musicians around the city.
On July 30th Shish released his 14-song LP “Steps,” which features a variety of musical genres ranging from indie rock, prog rock, and R&B, and deals with themes of his transition, friendship, love, and loss. He also produces music for other artists of varying genres, and plays guitar, bass, and keys as a session musician. He is the Head of Music Production for the Queens-based recording and production company, PREP Sound.
