We’re already well into fall (now that the weather has finally caught up here in NYC), and I’m feeling great about the music that’s been happening over the past couple months! Will Shish & the Soundwaves played two shows at the Shillelagh Tavern, welcoming Davontae Anderson on bass, and Jessie Linden holding it down on the drums as usual! The photo below is from the show my production company PREP Sound hosted, also featuring the amazing artists July Quin and Chanese Elifé. I’m looking forward to booking some more shows for us this winter, to be announced soon!
I’ve also been working making parts for musicians to record a 4-song demo of my musical “Lesbian Fairytale Musical” that I wrote music/lyrics for with my friend and book-writer Calvin Kasulke while we were at Ithaca College. We are very lucky to have the support of Planned Parenthood of the Southern Finger Lakes, who are funding the project to be promoted to LGBTQ youth groups, and high schools and colleges with LGBTQ groups. I’m so excited that this youth-friendly musical will be able to reach new corners of the country instead of sitting on my laptop!
I also have to give a huge shout out to my friend Laura Kyzrston (@larabellenewyork on instagram, follow her!) who did this AMAZING photo shoot with me this past week in Central Park, and the Radio City Music Hall area. I’m trying my best to save some of these for later this season to promote shows, but she has such a great eye, I’m having trouble not posting them all right away…
That’s all for now, keep an eye out for upcoming shows and new songs soon!
